Thursday was Family Day at the Marine boot camp in Parris Island, South Carolina. We were able to spend most of the day with Angel's little brother, Paul (who's not so little anymore). Paul led us around and showed us some of the places that stood out to him the most, like where he slept, trained and endured "the crucible". The place where they slept was so UNIFORM. Everything has to be just perfect. Anything smelly, like shoes, have to point away from the Senior Drill Instructor's bed. The beds are made uniformly, the open part of the pillowcases are facing the same direction, and everyone's lock has to be set on "0". If everything isn't perfect they get in trouble. It's crazy how particular everything is.
Angel, his brothers Albert and Paul, and his sister, Diane. Doesn't Paul look handsome in his uniform?
It was a long day of walking around the base, so Lexy slept like a baby that night at the hotel.
