Well earned vacation in Washinton D.C.

Angel had some business in Fairfax Virginia on Valentine's Day, so instead of splitting up the family, we decided to all go up and stay for the weekend. Fairfax is only twenty minutes from Washington D.C. so we could enjoy the all the sights!! We went up on Wednesday and on Thursday we enjoyed a nice family dinner and stroll through the mall. After the mall we took the kids swimming, they BOTH loved it!! It worked out well for us too, turns out, swimming right before bed time is a great way to wear them out!!!!! On Saturday we went to Arlington Cemetery. It was nice to feel that I could pay my respects to the many men and women who have provided me and my children with safety and freedom. Lexy doesn't miss a chance to make Logan laugh.

Robert E. Lee's home. Interesting fact: Robert E. Lee was hated by the unions because he was a confederate, so to keep him from being able to return to his home, they turned it into a cemetery- Arlington. From Arlington, next to the memorials for the Kennedy's, there's a beautiful view of the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. My little Logan with a face covered in oatmeal.

We spent Saturday seeing the Cemetery, walking across the big bridge into Washington, seeing the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and walking through the city. We ended up running out of time and didn't get to see everything we wanted to, and as luck would have it Sunday wasn't cundusive to have two small children outside. Oh well, we're not that far away, we'll go again soon. As if that wasn't bad enough, my camera died halfway through the cemetery and we had to use a boonky disposable for everything else. The kids LOVE hotels!!! They are both really good when we go to one...thank goodness!! Check out Logan's little swim trunks!!!! I love this pic!! Lexy has a million poses and expressions!!! Lexy's favorite part of our trip was the swimming pool!!! She had so much fun there!! We all did!! The hot tub was nice too!!
